Centering the Stories, Art & Magic of

Women of Colour

A Sacred Space For Modern Mystics & Wild Women
Creating Change In The World.

Layla 44 (BW).jpg

My name is Layla Saad and I am a writer, poet, speaker and guide.

Through my work, I explore the intersecting themes of spirituality, social justice, creativity, feminism, business and leadership.

Finding myself frustrated with the ways the spiritual and personal growth industry centers whiteness and white woman spirituality, I made a choice to use my platform to disrupt the status quo, and create change by centering leaders of colour. I am devoted to elevating and celebrating women of colour who are doing important work in their communities as teachers, mentors, writers, artists, activists, healers and change-makers.

There are two forces that drive my work: Anger and Love.

At the world for the way women of colour suffer under cultures of oppression such as patriarchy and white supremacy.

For women of colour, and the way we create transformational stories, magic & art in the face of these cultures of oppression.

It is these powerful forces of Anger and Love that propel me to write and hold space for
conversations that center the stories, art and magic of women of colour.

    "Today and all days,
I am thankful for women of color
    who love/write/create/emote
    from the root
    and never
    apologize for their magic."

    Poetry & Prose

fire words of truth, justice & love

“The white fathers told us: I think, therefore I am.
The black goddess within each of us - the poet -
whispers in our dreams: I feel, therefore I can be free.”

    - Audre Lorde

"...Being a black woman writer is not a shallow place but
    a rich place to write from. It doesn't limit my imagination;
    it expands it."
